EEC 136 A/B: Electronic Design Project
Two-quarter senior design sequence focused on the design and implementation of electro-optical systems such as optical communication links or pulse oximeters. Students integrate concepts from electromagnetics, optoelectronics, semiconductors, circuit design, communications, and microcontrollers to design, build, and test prototype systems under performance and economic constraints. Projects include transmitter/receiver design, component selection, circuit board fabrication, signal processing, and system characterization. Teams submit a comprehensive design report with analysis of power, noise, and manufacturability, and present their work at the end of the course.
