Congratulations!
You have received an offer of admission for graduate study at UC Davis. You have submitted your Statement of Intent to Register. What's next? Here is some important information and steps you will need to take:
Accept your admission offer
Accept your offer as soon as possible, but no later than August 1. Accepting the offer does not require a deposit.
At the bottom of the admission letter there is a link that will allow you to let us know if you are accepting our admission offer. This is called the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). If you plan on accepting our offer, completing the SIR will allow you to see what other steps you must complete to enroll as a graduate student at UC Davis. Even if you plan on declining your admission offer, we'd appreciate it if you complete the SIR to let us know.
Set up your UCD password and email
All new students must establish a campus computing account and a UC Davis e-mail account. Go to the Information Technology website and follow the instructions for establishing a computing account, Kerberos ID (your campus login ID) and password. When setting up your computing account online, be sure to respond to each prompt before exiting the system. You will need your UC Davis student ID number. That number is located on your admission letter. It may take up to 48 hours after submitting the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) before you are able to access this function.
If you have any issues accessing your email account, please contact ithelp@ucdavis.edu.
Complete the Statement of Legal Residence
All newly admitted graduate students are required to complete a Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) so that the Office of the University Registrar can determine whether you are eligible for California residency for tuition purposes. Only the UC Davis Residence Deputies are authorized to make an official determination of California residency status for that purpose.
Now that you have been accepted and you have submitted your Statement of Intent to Register, established a Kerberos ID and password and have your UC Davis e-mail account, you can submit your Statement of Legal Residence (SLR). See "Preparing to File the Statements of Legal Residence (SLR)" for information on preparing your statement on the Office of the University Registrar's website. There is an online form which you will fill out and submit online. You can access your university record through the Student Information System on the Web (SISWEB).
What Constitutes California Residency?
International applicants are not eligible for California residency, and domestic applicants must meet specific California residency criteria. We recommend you review the UC Davis Office of the University Registrar (OUR) webpage regarding California Residence for Purposes of Tuition. Once you have reviewed the information on the website you can make your selection in the application. Please note that you are only being asked to answer this question to the best of your knowledge. If you are admitted, OUR will request additional information to make a final determination regarding your residency.”
For additional information, please access the UC Residence Policy or contact the Residence Deputy at residencedeputy@ucdavis.edu.
