Francis Lee graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1974. In 1998, after two decades in industry, Lee became CEO of Synaptics, a position he held until 2009.

Giovonnae (Vonnie) Anderson is the first African-American woman with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering at a major institution. She obtained her Ph.D. at UC Davis in 1979 for her dissertation on “The Effect of Non-Uniform Channel Doping on Microwave Logic Devices“.
Ying Y. Tai is a Senior Director in Non-Volatile Engineering at Micron Technology, where he is leading the innovation effort in latest hardware and software architectures for NVM-based memory and storage systems.
Carl received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from UC Davis.
