Dr. Zhang carries out research in developing analytic foundation,
algorithms and protocols for computer networks and data science, through
distributed optimization, machine learning, stochastic analysis, and game
theory in networked systems. Specifically, the Zhang group studies edge
intelligence, reinforcement learning, optimization and control of wireless
networks, data privacy and security, and develops data-driven technology
innovations for a variety of IoT applications, including connected and
automated vehicles, 5G and beyond, smart grid. The research work draws on a
synergy of advanced mathematical tools to deliver practical solutions, and
has a wide range of intellectual emphasis.
