Chancellor and Professor in ECE, Gary S. May Receives 2021 AAAS Lifetime Mentor Award

We congratulate Chancellor Gary S. May for receiving the 2021 Lifetime Mentor Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science in honor of the impact of his work creating programs and mentoring students. 

Throughout his 30 years as a professor of engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and at UC Davis, Professor May has founded several programs that support underrepresented minority students in STEM, and also mentored more than 100 graduate students. 

We are proud to have an electrical engineer receive this award, and also proud to have Professor May as a faculty member in our department.
