On Tour with Renetta Garrison Tull

Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Renetta Garrison Tull travels the world to promote the importance of DEI in engineering. Tull’s recent travels have taken her to Cape Town, Nashville and Baltimore, among others, and she continues to make her mark at the University of California, Davis.

UC Davis ECExpo 2023 – Showcasing ‘State of the Art’ Advancements and Networking Opportunities

For the first time since 2019, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering gathered in person for the 2023 ECExpo at Kemper Hall and the Robert Mondavi Institute on April 7. More than 170 industry partners, alumni and friends participated in the annual meeting to celebrate new developments in education and research in the department.   

The event began with an unveiling of newly renovated teaching labs in Kemper Hall that were years in the making.  

2022 QuIST Colloquium Helps Set Global Stage for Quantum Information Science at UC Davis

Throughout the end of 2022, the College of Engineering funded a series of nine presentations from scholars across the globe and one professional from Google as part of its inaugural Quantum Information Science and Technology, or QuiST, Colloquium. The college recognized the effort as part of its Next Level strategic vision, which uplifts research and education that engineers a better world for all.  

Meeting Challenges, Thinking Differently 

Alumnus Frank Mong attributes the lessons he learned from UC Davis to his success. The study and project management skills he developed while in the ECE program were transferable to his COO position.

UC Davis' ECE Department Hosts High School COSMOS Educational Program in 2021

Since 2001, UC Davis, among four other UC campuses, has hosted the California State Summer School for Science and Mathematics (COSMOS) program. This competitive program welcomes high school students with strong aptitude for and interest in math and science to stay for four weeks on a UC campus and take courses with plenty of opportunities for hands-on activities, go on field trips with science and engineering professors and attend distinguished lectures given by world-famous speakers from different science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.&n

The First Ever ECExpo 2020

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department would like to thank everyone who was able to make it out to our first UC Davis ECExpo. This was an event full of great opportunities for both our undergraduate and graduate students. The UC Davis ECExpo was a unique and exclusive opportunity for industry partners, alumni, students and friends to collaborate, network, learn about technical innovations and research directions in the ECE department. A keynote talk “Towards Hardware Cybersecurity” was given by Professor Houman Homayoun who recently joined the department.

ECE Industrial Affiliates Symposium a Success

On April 27, 2018, the UC Davis Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering hosted over 150 industry and academic friends and affiliates at the annual Industrial Affiliates Symposium, where more than 60 industry partners were represented.
