In Memoriam: Professor Emeritus Wayne Current

Wayne Current, professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering, passed away on February 8th, one day after his 72nd birthday. Current received his bachelor's, master's, and then in 1974, his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, where he also played college football. He then joined TRW Systems Group’s Microelectronics Center in Redondo Beach, CA.  In 1976, he joined the faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department of the University of California, Davis where he was a faculty member for 35 years. His research interests include analog and digital electronic circuit and integrated circuit design and computer-aided design. In 2000, Current was named an IEEE Fellow in recognition for his contributions to the development and design of multiple valued logic circuits. Current was also a Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in California.
