SPIE Elects Jeremy Munday as Fellow

SPIE, an international society that brings academics and business professionals together to advance light-based science and technology, has elected Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Jeremy Munday to the status of fellow, following his promotion to senior member in 2023.

The society honors Munday’s outstanding scientific and technical achievements in optics, photonics and imaging by making him a fellow. The distinction also celebrates his substantial service to these research communities.

"It is an honor to be recognized by SPIE and the optics and photonics community for my work, and I am grateful to all of my colleagues for their support," Munday said.

He joins 46 others in becoming SPIE fellows in 2025, including Professor of Materials Science and Engineering Marina Leite

“It’s a pleasure to honor their technical achievements, their commitment to SPIE as well as to the wider optics and photonics community,” said Peter E. Andersen, chair of the SPIE Fellows Committee. “I join my colleagues in the SPIE Fellows Committee in recognizing these new SPIE Fellow Members, their high-level achievements across optics and photonics, and their impactful contributions to SPIE.”
